Scribe 7.0 Overview

Scribe has recently released the latest version of their integration product, Scribe Insight 7.0. Scribe has taken some huge strides with this major release. Some of the major themes of this new release are improved productivity and maintainability through the new multi-target capabilities and easier use of third-party web services.

One Data Source, Multiple Targets

The most anticipated feature of Scribe Insight 7.0 is the multi-target capabilities. No longer are you constrained by the one source/one target paradigm. Now your integrations can include steps that operate on many different target data sources or applications as is illustrated in the diagram below.

Let’s take a CRM to ERP account integration as an example. A salesperson creates a new account in CRM. In prior versions of Scribe Insight, there would be an integration that takes the new account and brings it into ERP. The ERP would assign the account an account number. Then a separate integration would take that account number from ERP and update the account back in CRM. Now you can pass the account from CRM to ERP and update the account in CRM with the newly assign account number all in one DTS.  We have worked on many Microsoft CRM to Microsoft Dynamics GP integrations and are excited about the simplification this feature will provide.

Easier to Maintain

Because of the new multi-target capability, integration process that used to consist of multiple-linked integrations can now be accomplished with a single integration. This means less time is required for development, modification and maintenance of your integrations.

Better Web Services

Scribe has updated the web services adapter to make it easier and more convenient to utilize third party web services in your integrations. A good example of this is address verification. Let’s say you recently imported a list of leads from a trade show into your Microsoft CRM system, and want to verify all the addresses. You can now write a Scribe integration that takes all those leads, checks the addresses using a third-party web like StrikeIron, and updates the leads in Microsoft CRM with the verified addresses. All in a single integration process. Other examples include retrieving a DUNS number for a new account, checking credit ratings, or updating exchange rates.

The new release of Scribe 7.0 should make integrations easier and improve the information available to users.
